Privacy Policy

Last updated August 27, 2026

This policy explains what information LitPrep.io ("LitPrep", "we") collects, how it is used, and the choices available to firms and their users.

Information we collect

  • Account information — name, work email, firm name, role, and authentication details, including two-factor enrollment.
  • Customer content — documents, matter details, notes, and other material uploaded to your workspace by your users.
  • Usage and log data — actions taken in the platform (uploads, processing runs, privilege decisions, productions), page counts used for billing, timestamps, and technical logs such as IP address and browser type.
  • Billing information — plan, invoices, and payment status. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor and are not stored by LitPrep.

How we use information

  • To provide the platform: intake, OCR, AI analysis, review workflows, and productions.
  • To meter page usage and invoice your firm.
  • To authenticate users, secure workspaces, and maintain the audit log.
  • To provide support, send service and billing notices, and communicate about the product.
  • To diagnose problems and improve reliability and performance of the service.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your customer content to train third-party foundation models.

Service providers

We rely on a small set of vendors to operate the platform, including cloud hosting and database infrastructure, AI model providers used for document analysis, an email delivery provider for transactional messages, and a payment processor for subscriptions and invoices. These providers process information on our behalf under contract and only as needed to deliver their part of the service. A current list is available on request.

Confidentiality and access controls

Each firm's matters and documents are scoped to that firm's workspace, and access is enforced by per-user roles. Two-factor authentication is required for sign-in. Actions taken in a workspace are recorded in an audit log available to firm administrators. Our own personnel access customer content only when necessary to provide support or to investigate a problem, and such access is logged.

Retention and deletion

Customer content is retained while your workspace is active. After cancellation you may request an export for a reasonable period before deletion. Billing records and audit logs may be kept longer where needed for legal, tax, or accounting purposes. A firm administrator can request deletion of specific content or of the entire workspace.

Your choices

Users can update their profile details in the app and unsubscribe from non-essential email. Transactional messages relating to security, account, and billing are required to operate the service. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information; requests can be sent to the address below. Where LitPrep processes personal information on behalf of a firm, we will route the request to that firm.

Children

The platform is intended for professional use and is not directed to children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated to workspace administrators before they take effect.
